World Connect was a cause looking for branding worthy of their name and good works. What do they do? They connect relatively small investments with individuals on the ground whose projects have an immediate impact on their communities. Unlike many charities who can absorb as much as 99% percent of donations just running the organization, world connect runs so lean that almost all the money makes it to the people who need it most. Thereby making the most difference.
We wanted to create a logo that paid off their name and showed the connections they make around the world. But the logo also had to work on another level. It had to work in places where they don’t understand English. And where it wouldn’t necessarily be printed but would instead have to be painted. It would have to work as a pictogram. The logo does both of these things. As a name the logotype depicts the connectedness of what they do. But rendered down to its essence.
The “O” in world can symbolically say the same thing: A world connected.
